The Honourable Chief Justice Chotiwat Leaungprasert

President of the Supreme Court of Thailand

 

Chief Justice Chotiwat Leaungprasert has been appointed the new Chairman of ALA Thailand and Thailand’s 48th President of the Supreme Court. Chief
Justice Leaungprasert graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree (secondclass honours) from Ramkhamhaeng University. He completed the Barrister-at-Law requirements of the Institute of Legal Education, Thai Bar Association under the Royal Patronage. He also earned his Master of Arts in Public Administration and Law from Ramkhamhaeng University.

 

Prior to his appointment as Chairman and President, Chief Justice Leaungprasert served as President of the Labour Case Division of the
Supreme Court from October 2021 until September 2022 and was previously appointed as Vice-Chairman of ALA National Committee of Thailand on 19
October 2021.

 

Chief Justice Leaungprasert commenced his judicial career as a judge-trainee in June 1984. In the course of his distinguished career, he held numerous prominent positions in the Court of Justice of Thailand including President of the Court of Appeal, Region 6, Chief Justice of the Central Labour Court, and Justice of the Supreme Court.

 

Presently, Chief Justice Leaungprasert also serves as Chairman of the Judicial Commission, Chairman of the Judicial Administration Commission, and President of the Thai Bar under the Royal Patronage.
