Justice Pornpetch Wichitcholchai
Justice Wichitcholchai is one of a founding member of the ASEAN Law Association (ALA) National Committee of Thailand. He was appointed as Chairman of the National Committee of Thailand between November 2006 to December 2009. He is the incumbent Honourable Member of the ASEAN Law Association of Thailand.
Justice Wichitcholchai graduated LL.B. (Hons.) from Chulalongkorn University and qualified as Barrister-at-Law from the Thai Bar Association. He went to the United States for his post-graduate studies and received an LL.M. from Harvard University. After his graduation, he had a successful career on the Thai bench. He served as the Deputy Chief Justice of Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court, President of the Court of Appeals Region 4 and the Presiding Justice of the Supreme Court, respectively. Currently, he is now a Senior Justice of the Supreme Court.
Throughout the period of his service, he has authored landmark decisions in areas such as serious crimes, intellectually property and civil cases. Many of these decisions are of great persuasive value. Apart from his judicial works, he used to serve as a member of the National Legislative Assembly.
Justice Wichitcholchai has been a Professor of Law, teaching Evidence and Computer Crimes at Chulalongkorn University, Ramkhamhaeng University, Assumption University and the Institute of Legal Education, Thai Bar Association.
